BPC 157, known as the "Body Protection Compound", is a pentadecapeptide isolated from human gastric juice that demonstrated its pleiotropic beneficial effects in various preclinical models mimicking medical conditions, such as tissue injury, inflammatory bowel disease, or even CNS disorders. Unlike many other drugs, BPC 157 has a desirable safety profile, since only a few side effects have been reported following its administration. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2 study evaluates whether pentadecapeptide BPC 157 (BPC-157), an investigational peptide, can speed structural healing and functional recovery after an acute grade II hamstring muscle strain. Participants will receive BPC 157 or placebo for 14 days in addition to a standardized rehabilitation program. The co-primary endpoints are time to return to unrestricted sport and change in MRI-assessed injury volume at Day 14.

A Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Effects of Peptide Gummies on Markers of Inflammation, Physical Performance, and Recovery

This study will evaluate the effects of Parlay Recover peptide gummies (containing Body Protection Compound BPC-157) on markers of inflammation, physical performance, and recovery in physically active adults. Over an 8-week period, 40 participants will consume two gummies daily and complete questionnaires at Baseline, Week 2, Week 4, Week 6, and Week 8, as well as undergo blood testing at Baseline and Week 8. The primary objective is to examine changes in inflammatory biomarkers (hs-CRP and IL-6) as measured by blood testing. Secondary objectives include evaluating participants' self-reported perceptions of the product's effects on physical performance and recovery, including aching, stiffness, function, and recovery of muscles and joints.
